CHALLENGE THE FISH OF MISTINIKON LAKE

In fishing, many people say the more shoreline there is the better the fishing. If this is true, then the waters surrounding Horseshoe Island Camp on Mistinikon Lake were created for fishing because we have over 100 miles of shoreline with numerous islands and rocky shoals. These features provide a haven for Walleye (pickerel), Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass. Take a look at our fishing photo gallery and you’ll see that pictures don’t lie with many guests landing lunkers of all varieties.

Rough water is never a hazard and our guests find their way about easily without the added expense of a guide. When you arrive we will reveal all of our favourite spots on the topographical map and show you the best tackle for the conditions at the time.

Boating on Lake Mistinikon is no problem when you rent one of the well maintained boats and motors at Horseshoe Island Camp. Our equipment is all well maintained to provide you with hassle free boating. But, if you want to bring a boat of your own, that’s no problem either. Our docking and launching facilities can accommodate any sized boats. Our rentals include boat seats, life jackets, paddles and anchors all at no extra charge.

Horseshoe Island Camp has well equipped fish cleaning facilities and live bait available. For those anglers who require tackle, we have that available as well.

Our area features many nearby lakes within easy access of the camp for the more adventuresome anglers.
